The New York Yankees reinstated infielder Jon Berti from the 10-day injured list ahead of Saturday’s game against the visiting Detroit Tigers.

Outfielder Taylor Trammell, a former first-round draft pick, was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Berti, 34, has been out of the Yankees’ lineup since April 10 due to a left groin strain. He went 1-for-9 in three games on a rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset.

Playing third base, Berti batted .211 (4-for-19) with one RBI in six games with New York prior to the injury.

Trammell, 26, was drafted in the first round by the Cincinnati Reds in 2016. The Yankees selected him off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers on April 18 and he collected one hit, one walk and two runs in five games with New York.
