The Texas Rangers activated right-hander Josh Sborz from the 15-day injured list prior to Thursday’s home series finale against the Seattle Mariners.

He had been sidelined since April 7 with a right rotator cuff strain.

Sborz, 30, threw 2 2/3 scoreless innings over three relief appearances before landing on the injured list. He is in his fourth season with Texas and was 6-7 with a 5.50 ERA in 44 games last season.

In a corresponding move, the Rangers optioned right-hander Grant Anderson to Triple-A Round Rock.

Anderson, 26, has no decisions and a 12.00 ERA in four relief appearances this season, giving up four earned runs in three innings. He held Seattle scoreless in the ninth inning of the Rangers’ 5-1 win on Wednesday.
