BYU guard Dallin Hall and big man Aly Khalifa reportedly entered the transfer portal Friday hours after Cougars coach Mark Pope officially departed to be the new head man at Kentucky.

Hall averaged 9.0 points and 5.1 assists in 34 games (30 starts) this season, BYU’s first in the Big 12. He knocked down 52 3-pointers and had 34 steals.

In two seasons with the Cougars, Hall averaged 8.2 points and 4.1 assists.

The 6-foot-10 Khalifa averaged 5.7 points, 4.0 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 29 games (26 starts) this season.

Khalifa spent his first two college seasons at Charlotte and had averages of 9.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 65 games (64 starts). The Egyptian made 77 3-pointers at Charlotte and has 97 overall.

Pope has to build a roster at Kentucky, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if Hall or Khalifa end up in Lexington. Khalifa reportedly put a do not contact tag on his portal entry so it’s possible he already has a destination in mind.

A native of Plain City, Utah, Hall certainly could return to Provo depending on who becomes BYU’s new coach.

Guard Jaxson Robinson, who averaged a team-best 14.2 points and won Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year honors, is another BYU player who could be interested in following Pope to Kentucky.

Robinson played one season each at Texas A&M and Arkansas before spending the past two seasons with the Cougars.
