The Seattle Reign extended defender Julia Lester’s deal through the 2025 NWSL season on Wednesday.

Lester, 26, joined the Reign on Jan. 24 in a three-team trade with Racing Louisville and NJ/NY Gotham.

She appeared in a total of 33 matches with Racing during her first two NWSL campaigns in 2022 and 2023.

“Julia Lester has been a fantastic addition to the club. Her calm and consistent demeanor, coupled with her pace and defensive ability, make her a great fit for our team,” Reign general manager Lesle Gallimore said in a news release. “Julia has quickly fit into the squad and we are really pleased to extend her contract through 2025.”

Lester played for Apollon Ladies FC in Cyprus for two seasons before joining the NWSL, earning Best XI honors in 2021 and helping the club win back-to-back Cypriot First Division titles.
