The Los Angeles Chargers are releasing receiver Mike Williams after seven seasons, ESPN reported Wednesday.

Parting ways with the seventh overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft will save the team $20 million against the cap.

Williams, 29, will enter free agency coming off a 2023 season that ended with a torn left ACL in Week 3.

He caught 19 passes for 249 yards and one touchdown in three starts before sustaining the knee injury.

Williams has 309 catches for 4,806 yards and 31 scores in 88 games (62 starts), including 1,000-yard seasons in 2019 and 2021.
