Javian McCollum drained a 3-pointer at the buzzer in overtime to lift Oklahoma to an 84-82 win over host Oklahoma State on Saturday in Stillwater, Okla.

The Cowboys missed two shots that could have expanded their lead, the last with 23 seconds left, and the Sooners’ Jalon Moore grabbed a defensive rebound. The Sooners held for a last shot after a timeout.

McCollum looked like he might have a difficult time getting a shot off as the seconds ticked away, but he launched the step-back 3-pointer from the wing as the horn sounded.

It swished through, sending his teammates running across the court to celebrate and leaving much of the crowd in stunned silence.

With just less than 1:30 remaining in overtime, John-Michael Wright drained a corner 3-pointer to put the Cowboys ahead for the first time in the extra period.

The Sooners (19-8, 7-7 Big 12) ended a two-game losing streak and gave them a sweep of the Bedlam series with the Cowboys in Oklahoma’s final season in the conference.

The loss snapped a two-game winning streak for the Cowboys (12-15, 4-10).

Rivaldo Soares, who missed the Sooners’ last game after suffering a sprained ankle late in the Feb. 13 loss to Baylor, returned to lead Oklahoma with 20 points off the bench. He was 7 of 9 from the field as the Sooners shot 50.7 percent from the floor.

It didn’t start out well for Oklahoma from the field, as they were just 12 of 33 (36.4 percent) in the first half, 2 of 14 from beyond the arc, as the Cowboys built a lead as big as 11.

But after halftime, the Sooners were lights out, going 23 of 36 (63.9 percent) the rest of the way to pull off the comeback.

Otega Oweh scored 16 points on 8-of-10 shooting.

While freshmen Brandon Garrison and Jamyron Keller had been big parts of Oklahoma State’s recent successes, another first-year player came up big for the Cowboys early.

Eric Dailey Jr. scored seven points during Oklahoma State’s 18-5 run in the first half to put them ahead by 11.

Quion Williams and Javon Small each scored 21 for the Cowboys, while Dailey added a season-high 20.
