MLB: Report: Diamondbacks to sign OF Randal Grichuk

The Arizona Diamondbacks are singing veteran outfielder Randal Grichuk to a one-year deal with a mutual option for 2025, ESPN reported Saturday.

The deal is worth $1.5 million this year and includes a $6 million option with a $500,000 buyout for next season, as well as performance bonuses, per the report.

Grichuk, 32, was a first-round draft pick by the Los Angeles Angels in 2009. Traded to the Cardinals in 2013, he made his major league debut with St. Louis in 2014 and since has played with the Toronto Blue Jays (2018-21), Colorado Rockies (2022-23) and Angels (2023).

Between the Rockies and Angels last season, Grichuk hit .267 with 16 homers and 44 RBIs.

In 1,141 career games, Grichuk has a .249 average with 191 home runs and 556 RBIs. He is 10 hits shy of 1,000 for his career.
