Racing Louisville traded goalkeeper Hillary Beall to the San Diego Wave on Monday for a natural second-round pick in the 2025 NWSL Draft.

Beall, 24, did not see any playing time the past two years after signing a rookie contract with Racing before the 2022 season. A native of Laguna Beach, Calif., Beall backed up goalie Katie Lund, who played every minute of both seasons.

“We thank Hillary for her time in Louisville and wish her the best as she moves closer to home in Southern California,” Racing general manager Ryan Dell said in a news release. “Hillary has been an outstanding teammate and the consummate professional in her time with Racing.”

A former Michigan standout, Beall is currently on loan with Western United in Australia’s A-League Women, where last season she won the league’s Goalkeeper of the Year award and helped the club reach the Grand Final in its first year of top-flight play.

The slot for San Diego’s 2025 NWSL Draft pick will be determined by the club’s place in the final standings for the 2024 season.
