The PGA Tour event formerly known as the Honda Classic has a new title sponsor: the IT and consulting company Cognizant.

The tournament played at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., will be dubbed the Cognizant Classic going forward, the tour announced Tuesday.

Cognizant and the PGA Tour came to a six-year agreement. Honda had been the title sponsor since 1982.

“On behalf of the PGA TOUR, our thanks to Cognizant for their commitment to the PGA TOUR’s South Florida event through 2030,” said PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan. “Through this partnership, the Cognizant Classic will continue to be one of the premier sports and entertainment events in the Palm Beaches while maintaining its role as a charitable leader within the community.”

The first Cognizant Classic will be played Feb. 29-March 3, 2024. Chris Kirk won last year’s tournament. Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland, Adam Scott of Australia, Rickie Fowler, Justin Thomas and Sungjae Im of South Korea all have taken turns winning at PGA National.
