The Detroit Tigers reached a one-year, $4.25 million deal with veteran left-hander Andrew Chafin that includes a club option for 2025, the Detroit Free Press reported Sunday.

Chafin, 33, was previously a member of the Tigers in 2022 when he went 2-3 with a 2.83 ERA in 64 relief appearances. Chafin pitched for the Milwaukee Brewers and Arizona Diamondbacks last season, going 3-4 with a 4.73 ERA in 63 combined appearances.

Over 10 major league seasons with five different clubs, Chafin is 17-24 with a 3.40 ERA in 539 appearances (three starts).

Chafin has a $6.5 million team option, or a $500,000 buyout, for the 2025 season, per the Free Press. He also has contract incentives worth up to $1.25 million each season.
