NFL: Texans add DE Kerry Hyder Jr. to practice squad

The Houston Texans signed defensive end Kerry Hyder Jr. to their practice squad on Tuesday.

Hyder, 32, recorded one tackle, which was a sack, in four games (no starts) this season with the San Francisco 49ers. He was released by the 49ers on Saturday.

Hyder has recorded 22 sacks and 161 tackles in 91 games (24 starts) with the Detroit Lions (2015-16, 2018), Dallas Cowboys (2019), 49ers (2020, 2022-23) and Seattle Seahawks (2021).

Also on Tuesday, the Texans released rookie wide receiver Lance McCutcheon and tackle Geron Christian from their practice squad.
