MLS: Red Bulls acquire Colombian F Jorge Cabezas Hurtado

The New York Red Bulls acquired Colombian forward Jorge Cabezas Hurtado on loan from England’s Watford FC.

The deal announced Thursday with Hurtado runs through the end of the current MLS season.

“Jorge is an exciting young player that we are happy to add to our roster for the rest of the season,” Red Bulls head of sport Jochen Schneider said. “We believe Jorge has the potential to help our roster this season and we are looking forward to him getting on the pitch at Red Bull Arena soon.”

Hurtado, 19, joined Watford in January before heading to Colombia’s Independiente Medellin on a six-month loan. He began his professional career at Real Cartegena in 2021.

“Jorge is a promising talent that we are excited to add to our team,” Red Bulls head coach Troy Lesesne said. “We believe he has the qualities to succeed in MLS and help us push towards our goals this season.”
