Christian Yelich hit a three-run home run and Corbin Burnes pitched eight shutout innings to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 4-0 win over the host Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday, clinching the three-game series victory.

After Blake Perkins failed to get a sacrifice bunt down with two runners on and nobody out in the top of the third, Yelich took care of things himself, hitting his 14th home run of the season.

Yelich finished 3-for-4 on the day. He now has five home runs this month, the most of any this season for the former National League MVP.

Burnes (9-5) took over from there to continue his recent stretch of dominance. The All-Star struck out 10 across his eight innings, allowing only two hits and one walk on an even 100 pitches.

In his last four starts, Burnes has totaled 27 innings, allowing just eight hits and four earned runs and striking out 36 hitters. Thursday marked his second consecutive start striking out 10 or more hitters and 23rd in his career.

Milwaukee tacked on one more insurance run in the top of the seventh thanks to an RBI single from William Contreras, scoring Andruw Monasterio, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Taijuan Walker (11-4) was charged with the loss for Philadelphia. He pitched six innings and allowed six hits, two walks and four earned runs while striking out six.

Following Burnes, hard-throwing reliever Abner Uribe came on to hold the lead for Milwaukee. Uribe struck out Nick Castellanos, Bryce Harper and Alec Bohm to end it.

This game ended a remarkable stretch for Milwaukee, during which its previous 13 wins required a save. The Brewers also had played in 17 consecutive games before Thursday where the game ended with a save for either team, walk-off or required extra innings.
