DOTA: BetBoom wins battle of unbeatens at DreamLeague Season 20

BetBoom Team is the last undefeated team standing in Group Stage 2 of DreamLeague Season 20 after sweeping PSG.LGD 2-0 on Tuesday.

BetBoom moved to 5-0 with two matches to go in the stage, while PSG.LGD still holds firm in second as the lone 4-1 team.

Evil Geniuses defeated 9Pandas 2-1 and Gaimin Gladiators took down Talon Esports 2-0, moving EG and GG into a tie for third at 3-2. Team Spirit swept Team Aster 2-0 in the other match of the day.

Two days remain in a seven-day, single round robin to determine which four teams will advance to the playoff round.

Sixteen Dota 2 teams from around the world were invited to DreamLeague Season 20 to compete for a $1 million prize pool. The winner will receive $300,000 and the runner-up will earn $175,000, with the top two finishers also qualifying for the Riyadh Masters later this year.

Group Stage 1 went from June 11-14, with a single round-robin format and all matches best-of-two. The top four teams from each group advanced to Group Stage 2 and formed one single group of eight, featuring best-of-three matches. The top four finishers from Group Stage 2 will qualify for a double-elimination playoff stage June 24-25.

On Tuesday, BetBoom beat PSG.LGD in 35 minutes and 44 minutes on green. Danil “gpk” Skutin of Russia posted a combined kills-deaths-assists ratio of 19-3-32 for BetBoom, while countryman Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Khertek racked up a whopping 52 assists over the two maps.

Evil Geniuses opened with a 34-minute win on green before 9Pandas countered with a 55-minute win on green. But EG clinched the match by winning in 36 minutes on red. EG’s Crhistian “Pakazs” Savina of Peru posted an 11-1-9 K-D-A on the clinching map.

Gaimin Gladiators defeated Talon in 33 minutes on red and 36 minutes on green. Denmark’s Marcus “Ace” Hoelgaard posted 12 kills and 19 assists without a single death for GG.

Spirit beat Aster in 45 minutes on green and 35 minutes on red, handing Aster its fifth straight loss amid a week when its coach decided to resign. Denis “Larl” Sigitov of Russia led with 20 kills, five deaths and 28 assists for Spirit.
