The Toronto Ultra swept the New York Subliners on Saturday to punch their ticket to the grand final of the Call of Duty League playoffs in Las Vegas.

Toronto tackled the Subliners in the winners bracket final, picking up victories on Zarqwa Hydroelectric Hardpoint (250-186), Mercado Las Almas Search & Destroy (6-3) and El Asilo Control (3-0).

Tobias “CleanX” Jonsson of Denmark led the Ultra with 59 kills and a plus-1.23 kills-deaths ratio, while France’s Paco “HyDra” Rusiewiez finished with a team-high 51 kills for New York.

The top eight teams from the CDL season opened the $2.38 million double-elimination event on Thursday. All matches are best-of-five except for the grand final on Sunday, which will be best-of-nine.

The championship winner will earn $1 million, while the runner-up will receive $660,000.

Although they were knocked out of the winners bracket, the Subliners still found a way to clinch a grand final berth by beating the Atlanta FaZe 3-1 in the elimination bracket final.

New York dropped the first map, Breenbergh Hotel Hardpoint, 250-198, but quickly bounded back. The Subliners went on to win 6-3 on El Asilo Search & Destroy, 3-0 on Breenbergh Hotel Control and 250-195 on Embassy Hardpoint to complete the comeback.

It was “HyDra” who was once again the hero for New York, supplying a match-high 92 kills to go along with a plus-1.33 K-D.

Atlanta made its way to the elimination bracket final by topping the Seattle Surge 3-1. The FaZe had eliminated the Boston Breach with a 3-1 triumph, and Seattle edged OpTic Texas 3-2 earlier Saturday to set up the meeting.
