The Boston Red Sox released right-hander Ryan Brasier on Sunday, one week after designating him for assignment.

Brasier, 35, posted a 1-0 record with a 7.29 ERA and 1.571 WHIP in 20 relief appearances for the Red Sox this season. He had one save.

He pitched the last six seasons in Boston after recording seven appearances for the Los Angeles Angels in 2013. He is 7-8 in his career with nine saves and a 4.45 ERA in 229 appearances (one start).

With Brasier gone, the Red Sox have just two players remaining from their 2018 World Series championship team: left-hander Chris Sale and third baseman Rafael Devers.
