LOL: T1 outlast Gen.G, advance at Mid-Season Invitational

T1 recorded a 3-2 victory over Gen.G Esports on Saturday to advance to the upper bracket final at the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational.

T1 claimed 37- and 26-minute wins on red before Gen.G Esports responded with victories on the next two maps, a 31-minute decision on red and 30-minute triumph on blue. T1 countered with a 26-minute win on blue to capture the match and advance to Thursday’s clash versus the winner of the clash between Bilibili Gaming and JD Gaming.

Also on Saturday, G2 Esports notched a 3-0 victory over MAD Lions in a lower-bracket Round 1 match.

G2 Esports secured a 23-minute victory on red in the first map before taking the final two to advance to Tuesday’s lower-bracket quarterfinals match.

The $250,000 Mid-Season Invitational’s bracket stage runs through May 21 with a top prize of $50,000. That stage is contested in a double-elimination format. All matches are best-of-five.
