The Hangzhou Spark recorded a 3-1 victory over the Seoul Dynasty on Friday to move into second place in the East Region qualifiers for the Overwatch League’s Spring Stage Knockouts.

The Spark won 2-1 on Ilios and 1-0 on Blizzard World before the Dynasty countered with a 5-4 decision on Shambali Monastery. The Spark responded with a 1-0 victory on Esperanca to end the match.

Meanwhile, the Dallas Fuel captured their first win by posting a 3-0 victory over Shanghai Dragons. The Fuel sandwiched 2-0 triumphs on Nepal and Junkertown around a 4-3 win on Hollywood.

The OWL format is different this year, with lower-level teams getting the chance to compete with the top-level squads.

The season format now will see teams amass points based on their results in regional qualifiers rather than the standard league standings that were in place in previous years.

Overwatch League Spring Stage Knockouts, East Region qualifying with match record, map differential:
1. Guangzhou Charge, 3-0, plus-9
2. Hangzhou Spark, 3-1, plus-4
3. Seoul Infernal, 2-1, plus-5
4. Dallas Fuel, 1-3, minus-5
5. Seoul Dynasty, 1-3, minus-6
6. Shanghai Dragons, 1-3, minus-7
