NBA2K: Two community teams advance in NBA 2K League’s 3v3 semis

Community teams Dot Squad and Glo Navy Glosquitos rolled into the upper-bracket semifinals of the NBA 2K League’s 3v3 playoffs with victories on Thursday in Washington.

Dot Squad upset defending champion Pistons GT 3-2, and the Glosquitos stunned Bucks Gaming 3-2.

Next up for Dot Squad is a semifinal match against DUX Infinitos, who swept NBL Oz Gaming 3-0. The Glosquitos advance to face NetsGC, who crushed top-seeded T-Wolves Gaming 3-0.

The double-elimination playoffs feature 14 teams, with top-seeded T-Wolves Gaming and second-seeded DUX Infinitos receiving first-round byes. The tournament, which has a $600,000 prize pool, runs through Saturday.

Dot Squad opened with 23-18 and 22-12 victories before the Pistons responded with 21-18 and 21-14 wins. In the decisive fifth game, Dot Squad triumphed 21-18.

The Bucks moved in position to advance by sandwiching 21-16 and 21-11 wins around a 21-17 defeat. However, Glo Navy moved on thanks to 23-12 and 22-20 victories.

In lower-bracket action on Thursday, the Bucks rebounded to down Warriors Gaming Squad 3-2, the T-Wolves bounced back to oust Jazz Gaming 3-1, the Pistons recovered to clobber Cavs Legion GC 3-0 and NBL Oz survived with a 3-1 victory over Blazer5 Gaming.
