Illinois freshman guard Jayden Epps announced Tuesday that he will transfer.

Epps played in 31 games, starting 15 for the Illini this past season. He averaged 9.5 points per game, tied for fourth on the team.

He made the announcement on social media.

“I am confident that this is the best decision for my future and personal growth,” Epps posted, in part, to Twitter.

Illinois went 20-13 and lost in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
