Glo Navy Glosquitos became the second community team to advance to in-person playoffs at the NBA 2K League’s 3v3 Slam Open, winning two lower-bracket matches on Friday to extend their run.

The Glosquitos, who are seeded 26th in the $150,000 event, will be joined in Washington next week by No. 6 NBL Oz Gaming, No. 7 Wizards District Gaming, No. 17 Celtics Crossover Gaming.

Each of those teams posted two victories on Friday to join the eight teams that moved on out of the winners bracket on Thursday: No. 3 Knicks Gaming, No. 5 Cavs Legion GC, No. 8 Jazz Gaming, No. 10 NetsGC, No. 11 T-Wolves Gaming, No. 13 Hawks Talon GC, No. 16 Pistons GT and No. 31 Glitchy (a community team).

After sweeping No. 29 Handlez 3-0, the Glosquitos eliminated No. 12 Grizz Gaming 3-1.

NBL Oz Gaming took down No. 1 Bucks Gaming and then No. 30 Dot Squad, both by 3-1 scores.

The Wizards eliminated No. 4 Warriors Gaming Squad 3-2 before eking out another 3-2 decision against No. 21 Hornets Venom GT.

The Celtics handled No. 27 Gamers First Longhorns 3-0 and then beat Pacers Gaming 3-2.

In the day’s other early matches, Dot Squad defeated No. 9 76ers GC 3-2, the Grizz conquered No. 15 Lakers Gaming 3-2, the Hornets bounced No. 18 Raptors Uprising GC 3-1 and the Pacers crushed No. 24 Magic Gaming.

The playoffs began in a best-of-five, double-elimination format, with the opening rounds played remotely through Friday. The final 12 teams will now face off in-person from Wednesday through April 1 in Washington. Those matches will be best-of-five but single elimination.

All 25 professional teams advanced to the playoffs, with group-play records determining seeding. The top seven teams from the community competition filled out the final seven seeds.
