Austin FC acquired defender Aleksandar Radovanovic on loan from KV Kortrijk of the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.

The agreement runs through June 30 and includes a transfer option.

“I’m excited to join Austin FC and eager to help the team however I can,” Radovanovic said in a news release. “The Club has an incredible fanbase.”

It will be the first MLS experience for Radovanovic, a Serbian who has played professionally across Europe since 2010, beginning with his hometown club Macva Sabac.

From 2015-18, he made stops with Serbian SuperLiga clubs OFK Beograd, Spartak Subotica and Vojvodina, then moved to French side RC Lens, which earned promotion to Ligue 1 during his tenure there.

He joined Kortrijk in 2021.

“Aleksandar is an experienced, left-footed center back who will bring quality and depth to the team’s defensive options,” said Sean Rubio, Austin’s interim sporting director. “We look forward to welcoming him to the Club and to the city.”
