The New York Red Bulls acquired Belgian forward Dante Vanzeir on Friday, signing him to a four-year contract with an option for the 2027 season.

The Red Bulls paid an undisclosed transfer fee to Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, his Belgian club.

Vanzeir, 24, will fill a designated player slot.

“We are very excited to add Dante to our club,” said Jochen Schneider, the Red Bulls’ head of sport, in a news release. “He is a top-class professional and is highly motivated to show his skills here in the United States, we are excited to see him on the pitch at Red Bull Arena soon.”

Vanzeir spent the past three seasons with Royale Union Saint-Gilloise — the first season in Belgium’s second division before promotion to the top-flight Jupiler Pro League.

In 28 appearances across all competitions this season, the 5-foot-9 Vanzier has 12 goals and two assists. He has 92 total appearances, scoring 48 goals and adding 21 assists, with the Belgian organization.
