LOL: Cloud9, FlyQuest stay unbeaten in LCS Spring Split

Cloud9 beat Counter Logic Gaming in a battle of unbeaten teams on Thursday, and FlyQuest downed Golden Guardians to maintain its perfect record in the League Championship Series Spring Split.

All 10 teams in the top North American League of Legends circuit were in action as Week 2 got underway.

Each LCS team will play every other team twice through March 17. The first- through fourth-place teams will then head to the upper-bracket semifinals of the double-elimination playoffs. The fifth- and sixth-place teams will enter the playoffs in the lower bracket.

The winner and runner-up in the playoff final will earn berths in the Mid-Season Invitational along with other teams from LoL leagues worldwide. The LCS Spring Split carries a $200,000 prize pool, with the champion earning $100,000.

On Thursday, Cloud9, playing on blue, downed Counter Logic Gaming in 26 minutes. Australia’s Ibrahim “Fudge” Allami registered a 4-0-9 kill-death-assist ratio for Cloud9. The United States’ Cristian “Palafox” Palafox wound up at 2-1-1 for Counter Logic Gaming.

FlyQuest beat Golden Guardians in 38 minutes on red. South Korea’s Lee “Prince” Chae-hwan paced FlyQuest with a 4-1-3 K-D-A ratio. Another South Korean, Kim “Gori” Tae-woo, finished at 3-2-2 for Golden Guardians.

100 Thieves, playing on blue, earned a 31-minute win over Dignitas. The United States’ Yiliang Peter “Doublelift” Peng recorded a 9-1-5 K-D-A ratio for 100 Thieves. Denmark’s Lucas “Santorin” Tao Kilmer Larsen logged a 1-2-3 K-D-A ratio for Dignitas.

Team Liquid needed just 27 minutes on red to down Immortals. The United States’ Sean “Yeon” Sung compiled a 5-1-4 K-D-A ratio for Liquid. Mohamed “Revenge” Kaddoura of the United States posted a 4-2-2 K-D-A ratio for Immortals.

Evil Geniuses, playing on blue, defeated TSM in 27 minutes. Australia’s Ian Victor “FBI” Huang produced a 9-1-6 K-D-A ratio for Evil Geniuses. Taiwan’s Huang “Maple” Yi-Tang had a 2-5-4 K-D-A ratio for TSM.

Week 2 concludes Friday with five matches:

–TSM vs. 100 Thieves
–Team Liquid vs. Golden Guardians
–Immortals vs. Counter Logic Gaming
