NHL: Vegas F Mark Stone (back surgery) out indefinitely

Vegas Golden Knights forward and captain Mark Stone is out indefinitely after undergoing back surgery.

Stone, 30, had the surgery Tuesday. The team confirmed the operation, adding that Stone is expected to make a full recovery.

Stone was injured Jan. 12 in Vegas’ game against the Florida Panthers. He suffered a setback in his rehab, resulting in the decision to have surgery. Stone also underwent lumbar discectomy last May after missing 26 games.

Stone had 38 points (17 goals, 21 assists) in 43 games this season, his fifth in Vegas. He has 514 career points (196 goals, 318 assists) in 584 career games with Ottawa (2012-19) and the Knights.
