NHL: Blues activate D Torey Krug, F Vladimir Tarasenko from IR

The St. Louis Blues activated defenseman Torey Krug and forward Vladimir Tarasenko from injured reserve on Tuesday.

Also on Tuesday, the Blues placed Pavel Buchnevich on injured reserve after the forward underwent a surgical procedure to address an infection to his ankle. He will be re-evaluated after the All-Star break, per the team.

Krug was placed on long-term IR on Dec. 27. He has missed the team’s last 13 games due to a lower-body injury.

Krug, 31, has recorded 17 points (five goals, 12 assists) and 13 penalty minutes in 31 games this season. He has totaled 429 points (83 goals, 346 assists) and 306 penalty minutes in 669 career games with the Boston Bruins and Blues.

Tarasenko, 31, was placed on injured reserve Jan. 2 with a hand injury.

A pending unrestricted free agent, Tarasenko has 29 points (10 goals, 19 assists) in 34 games this season. Tarasenko has 553 points (262 goals, 291 assists) in 640 career games since being selected by the Blues with the 16th overall pick of the 2010 NHL Draft.

Buchnevich, 27, has 38 points (15 goals, 23 assists) in 38 games this season. He has totaled 309 points (124 goals, 185 assists) in 412 career games with the New York Rangers and Blues.
