North Carolina Courage goalkeeper Katelyn Rowland signed a three-year contract extension through the 2025 season on Tuesday.

Financial terms were not disclosed by the team for Rowland, who recorded a pair of shutouts and made 15 saves while starting all eight Challenge Cup games in 2022.

“When we brought Katelyn back it was not only because we think so highly of her as a player, but also as a person,” Courage coach Sean Nahas said. “She was an integral part of us winning the Challenge Cup in 2022 and is someone who we knew we wanted back.

We look forward to seeing Katelyn’s continued growth under (assistant coach) Nathan (Thackeray) and someone who day in and day out will challenge our players to be the best version of themselves.”

Rowland, 28, posted eight clean sheets for the Courage’s NWSL championship-winning team in 2018. The former UCLA standout has 25 shutouts in 75 career starts across all NWSL competitions with FC Kansas City, Western New York, Kansas City Current and the Courage.
