Two of the Pittsburgh Penguins’ key pieces rejoined the roster Friday as starting goaltender Tristan Jarry was activated from injured reserve and defenseman Jeff Petry was activated from long-term injured reserve.

In corresponding moves, the Penguins reassigned goaltender Dustin Tokarski and defenseman Taylor Fedun to AHL affiliate Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

The Penguins also placed defenseman Kris Letang on long-term injured reserve retroactive to Dec. 28 and defenseman Jan Rutta on injured reserve retroactive to Jan. 14.

Out since being injured in the Winter Classic on Jan. 2 at Fenway Park, Jarry, 27, is 15-5-4 this season with a 2.75 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage (tied for ninth in the NHL entering Friday’s play).

In his first season with the Penguins, Petry, 35, has three goals and 12 points in 28 games. He averages 22:30 minutes of ice time, the second-highest among all Penguins.
