Washington Spirit midfielder Jordan Baggett signed a two-year extension with a team option for 2025, the club announced Wednesday.

Baggett had one goal and one assist in 12 total matches for the Spirit last season. She was placed on the 45-day disabled list with a concussion after a violent collision during a May 7 match against the North Carolina Courage in which she was taken off the field via stretcher and transported to the hospital.

“Jordan has worked very hard on getting back to full fitness and we are all excited to see a fresh start from her in 2023,” Spirit coach Mark Parsons said in a news release. “She has the ability to cause damage to opponents in many ways from the midfield and we can’t wait to see her bring her qualities.”

Baggett’s best of her four seasons with Washington came in 2019 when she scored four goals in 22 appearances. She was the third overall pick in the 2019 draft after a standout college career at Stanford, when she went by Jordan DiBiasi.

“The Spirit is an exceptional club with great leadership and world-class talent,” Baggett said in the news release. “I’m thrilled to be here and to continue to call D.C. home.”
