Desmond Cambridge Jr. led four players in double figures with 21 points and Arizona State dominated in a 90-73 rout over Oregon Thursday night in Eugene, Ore.
D.J. Horne had 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting from 3-point range, Devan Cambridge added 14 points and Warren Washington had 10 points and eight rebounds for the Sun Devils, who have won three in a row overall against the Ducks and are 5-1 in Pac-12 Conference play for the first time since the 1980-81 season.
Arizona State (14-3) made 52.4 percent of its shots for the game and 13 of 29 3s for a 44.8 percent clip. The Sun Devils led for all but 79 seconds.
Will Richardson had 16 points and N’Faly Dante 14 for the Ducks (9-8, 3-3). Oregon trailed by as many as 29 in the second half and was down 46-29 at halftime.
A 20-6 run inside of the first 10 minute turned a 6-5 Oregon lead into a 25-12 Sun Devils advantage, and the Ducks could never recover. Two dunks and three 3-pointers punctuated the run.
A Horne 3 and back-to-back transition baskets from Devan Cambridge made it 44-20 with 4:02 to play until halftime. Richardson hit three consecutive 3s to cut into the lead before the break.
But the second half was more of the same. Arizona State started with a 10-2 run to take a 25-point lead. Austin Nunez drove for a layup with 10:50 to play for a 73-44 Sun Devils lead.
Oregon responded with an 11-0 run and forced an Arizona State timeout, after which head coach Bobby Hurley sent his starters back out on the court. That group made sure the Sun Devils coasted to victory.
