FC Dallas signed defender Amet Korca from Croatian first-division club HNK Gorica.

The deal announced Tuesday is for one year with club options for 2024 and 2025.

An Arlington, Texas, native, Korca, 22, spent the last three-plus seasons in Croatia.

“Amet is from Texas and has international experience in the first division in Croatia, which is an incredibly competitive league,” FC Dallas technical director Andre Zanotta said in a press release. “He brings that European experience with him as he returns home to Texas. Amet adds valuable depth to our roster.”

Korca joined SNK Dinamo Zagreb’s Academy in 2019. He later joined Croatian second-division side NK Dubrava on loan and then on permanent transfer, appearing in 65 matches overall from 2020-21 before joining HNK Gorica.
