NWSL: Dash re-sign F Michelle Alozie to 2-year deal

The Houston Dash re-signed forward Michelle Alozie to a two-year contract through the 2024 season.

Alozie, 25, played in 10 games for the Dash this past season, scoring two goals while earning the start in Houston’s first-ever playoff game, which ended in a 2-1 defeat to the Kansas City Current.

A native of Southern California, Alozie plays for Nigeria internationally and helped the side qualify for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup at Australia and New Zealand.

“Michelle grew tremendously in her role for us in 2022. She stepped up in high pressure circumstances and proved to us she was up for the task in each situation,” Dash general manager Alex Singer said in a release. “… It is exciting as we know the potential that she has, and I look forward to seeing her development and impact over the next two years.”

Alozie scored 19 goals in 49 games at Yale from 2015-18, and had three goals in 17 games at Tennessee in 2019.
