Angel City Football Club on Thursday re-signed defender Megan Reid to a one-year contract in advance of the club’s second season in 2023.

Reid played every minute of all 22 games for ACFC last season, guiding a defense that recorded four shutouts. The club went 8-9-5 in its inaugural season under head coach Freya Coombe.

A graduate of Virginia, Reid played on club team Denmark before signing with the Los Angeles representative in the NWSL.

“I was beyond excited to be a part of Angel City FC’s inaugural season and I am even more excited to be back for 2023,” Reid said in a release. “Playing in the NWSL, especially with Angel City, has been a dream come true and I am looking forward to what we can do next season.”
