NCAAB: South Dakota coach Eric Peterson hospitalized after fall at home

South Dakota coach Eric Peterson sustained multiple injuries from a fall at his home Wednesday night, the school said in a release Thursday.

Peterson will miss Saturday’s home game against UC Irvine. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Per the university, Peterson fell while decorating his house for the holidays and is being treated in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Peterson is in his first season coaching the Coyotes. He spent last season as an assistant on the staff at Utah and the prior three seasons as an assistant at Utah State. Before that, he was at South Dakota as an assistant coach from 2014-18.

His team is 5-5 thus far, with a 69-68 upset win over BYU last Saturday in Salt Lake City.
