Olivier-Maxence Prosper scored a career-high 31 points as Marquette cruised to a 95-58 win against Long Island University on Thursday night in Milwaukee.

Prosper connected on 11 of 12 shots from the field for Marquette (3-1), which never trailed. Kam Jones chipped in 13 points, reserve David Joplin went for 12 points and seven rebounds, and Oso Ighodaro supplied 11 points, six rebounds and six assists.

Marquette scored with ease, making good on 34 of 68 shots (50.0 percent). The Golden Eagles also continued their strong home run, now winning their last 10 games at Fiserv Forum.

Marko Maletic had 22 points on 8-for-20 shooting for Long Island (1-2), which failed to earn back-to-back wins. Jacob Johnson contributed 17 points, eight rebounds and three assists, and RJ Greene notched nine points.

Turnovers hampered LIU, as the Sharks committed 23 that led to 26 Marquette points. Although the Sharks got out and ran to tally 29 fastbreak points, the Golden Eagles still had the slight edge, posting 31.

Following a dominant first half, Marquette opened the second with an 11-1 run to take a commanding 33-point lead. Prosper headlined the surge, scoring nine straight points.

That advantage would eventually balloon to 42, and the Golden Eagles later emptied their bench as they cruised to the victory.

After Greene converted a layup to pull LIU within 11 with 10:18 left in the first half, the Golden Eagles blew things open.

Marquette put together a 17-6 run to take a 22-point lead before going into the intermission up 47-24. Prosper led all scorers before the break, posting 13 points, while Joplin added 12. Maletic paced the Sharks with nine.

Neither team shot well from 3-point range through the first 20 minutes of action, as Long Island went 3-for-11 (27.3 percent) from deep and the Golden Eagles shot 4 of 16 (25.0 percent). Marquette made up for it at the free-throw line, though, going 15-for-18.
