Shannon Brandt says he purposely hit teen after a political argument, admitted to killing Cayler Ellingson, 18.
Following “a political debate,” North Dakotan Shannon Brandt, 41, allegedly admitted to killing Cayler Ellingson, 18, by punching her. Shannon Brandt, 41, the driver accused of running into Ellingson in an alley, is charged in Foster County with vehicular murder and fleeing the scene of a fatal accident.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Brandt told investigators he left the area after striking Ellingson, came back for a short while, called 911, and then departed once more.
In the court record, Brandt admitted to drinking before hitting Ellingson and claimed he believed the adolescent was calling individuals to attack him as a result of their argument and that he felt intimidated. Ellingson was taken by ambulance to a Carrington hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Brandt informed the police that he believed Ellington belonged to an “extreme Republican group.”
In the face of Republican outcry, he was spotted being freed from prison on bond. GOP indignation at Biden’s vitriol against his opponents was headed by Paul. It follows the President’s Philadelphia “Soul of the Nation” speech.Trump and his supporters were described as a threat to democracy by him. Biden doesn’t support political violence, according to a statement from the White House.
