People Queue Up for Covid-19 Boosters Even Before Taking Vaccination Shots, Says CDC

When Covid-19 vaccines were rolled out, the world saw a ray of hope. Now booster shots are helping people and cities bounce back to life.

A professor of education, Mark Warschauer, seems to be leading a movement related to booster vaccine doses. He is a frontrunner in the queue for the vaccine booster.

The educator at Irvine’s University of California, stated that he was “tremendously excited” when he heard about Covid-19 vaccine rollout, and even happier when he was able to take his first shot.

“We were very concerned about Covid,” the member of the National Academy of Education revealed to CNN. He also stated, “I’m not elderly, but at the age of 67 I knew there was a substantial risk of hospitalization and even death from Covid. So I got my vaccine at the earliest possible date.”

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shared recent data that indicates that more and more people are inclined towards taking a booster shot of the coronavirus vaccine, rather than getting properly vaccinated first. The data reveals that over six million Americans who have been fully vaccinated, have taken the booster dose.

The booster shot is being advised for those who have completed the series of Pfizer’s vaccinations. The CDC recommends that booster doses should first be administered to seniors of 65 and above, and those with comorbidities that could place them within the greater-at-risk category. Working populations at risk of contracting the disease also fall under the same category.

There are certain immune-compromised people who are being advised for a third dose. This dose is technically not considered a booster as there is a possibility that this part of the population was not fully responsive to the first two.

Since, October 1, booster dose administration numbers are rapidly replacing those of people who are just starting to get vaccinated.

“Vaccinating the unvaccinated remains the top priority, including through vaccination requirements,” stated Jeff Zients, White House Covid-19 Response Coordinator, at a team briefing on Wednesday.

He also stated that about 2 million have received their booster dose in the “last five days.”

“Mass vaccination clinics will likely be considered when and where there’s a need, ” said Lori Tremmel Freeman, the chief executive officer of the National Association of County and City Health Officials, in his conversation with CNN on Wednesday.
