The Houston Texans are cutting starting tight end Pharaoh Brown, Pro Football Network reported Tuesday.

Brown, 28, has seven catches for 72 yards in three starts this season. He missed last Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers with hip and shoulder injuries.

The Texans have O.J. Howard and Brevin Jordan on the active roster, though Jordan has missed the past two games with an ankle injury. Jordan Akins has a touchdown catch in two games off the practice squad.

Brown signed a one-year extension with Houston in March worth $3.5 million, all but $500,000 of it guaranteed.

He has 46 career receptions for 433 yards and two touchdowns in 42 games (31 starts) for the then-Oakland Raiders (2017), Cleveland Browns (2019) and Texans. He signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Oregon in 2017.
