Real Salt Lake acquired veteran U.S. men’s national team defender DeAndre Yedlin from FC Cincinnati on Thursday.

In exchange for the 32-year-old right back, Cincinnati receives $304,700 in 2025 general allocation money.

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome DeAndre to our club,” RSL chief soccer officer Kurt Schmid said. “He is a player of tremendous quality whose experience at the highest levels of the game will be invaluable to our team.

“Beyond his skill on the field, his leadership and professionalism will strengthen our locker room and help set the tone. We believe DeAndre’s impact will be felt immediately, and we’re excited about the role he will play in driving our success now and into the future.”

Yedlin recorded four assists in 27 MLS matches (22 starts) this season with FCC.

“DeAndre has been an incredible part of our FC Cincinnati family,” FCC general manager Chris Albright said. “He’s a top professional, teammate and person, and we wish him and his family all the best in Salt Lake.”

The three-time MLS All-Star previously played with the Seattle Sounders (2013-14) and Inter Miami CF (2022-24) in addition to stints with England’s Tottenham Hotspur, Sunderland and Newcastle United and Turkey’s Galatasaray. He captained Miami’s 2023 Leagues Cup title team.
