The Los Angeles Dodgers jumped on Sean Manaea for four runs in the first inning and four more in the third Friday night and coasted to an 8-1 victory over the visiting San Diego Padres in the opener of a three-game weekend series.

The Dodgers also honored Vin Scully before and during their first home game since the Hall of Fame broadcaster’s death on Tuesday.

Dodgers right-hander Tony Gonsolin (13-1) held the Padres scoreless on three hits and a walk with six strikeouts over five innings. He is tied for the National League led in wins and lowered his ERA to 2.30, second in the NL.

Hanser Alberto, Chris Taylor and Cody Bellinger all had two-run doubles for the Dodgers, who scored all of their runs on 10 hits and a walk in four innings off Manaea (6-6).

The Dodgers wasted no time in getting to Manaea. Mookie Betts opened the first inning with a double and moved to third on a single to left by Trea Turner. After Manaea hit Freddie Freeman with a pitch to load the bases, Will Smith drove in Betts with an infield single to third baseman Brandon Drury, who then threw the ball away, allowing Turner to also score.

After Manaea struck out Taylor, Alberto hit his two-run double to left center.

Freeman and Smith opened the third with singles, and Taylor brought them in with a double to left center. Manaea retired the next two hitters before walking Trayce Thompson, and Bellinger then rocketed a double to right, scoring Taylor and Thompson.

After Manny Machado’s double with two outs in the third, Gonsolin and reliever David Price retired 12 straight Padres hitters.

The Padres scored in the top of the ninth on a sacrifice fly by Drury.

There was a lighter moment in the bottom of the eighth with infielder Matthew Batten pitching for the Padres. Pitcher Tyler Anderson pinch-hit for Freeman with two out and struck out.

Smith led the Dodgers with three hits and scored twice. Betts and Turner each had two hits.
